Aroma: amazing, chocolate, syrup, heather. 10 out of 10.

Visuals: beautiful design, deep brown, mostly opaque, thin white head, little lace. 3 out of 5.

Taste: unbalanced, mostly malt, little hops, low strength, medium craft. 6 out of 10.

Palate: lower quality, smooth texture, quick finish. 3 out of 5.

Overall: A real disappointment, more of a brown ale than an imperial stout, not a repeat, not a favorite, little value, medium craft. 15 out of 20.



Budweiser American Ale

Style and Glass: Amber Ale; shaker
ABV, Volume & Calories: 5.3% in 12 fl oz. estimated at 150 C
Purchased at: Super Saver Pennington, NJ for $1.08

Aroma: quiet, faint, caramel. 5 out of 10.

Visuals: well designed label, beautiful, copper, brilliant, little head, some lace. 4 out of 5.

Taste: weak, some malt, little hops, low strength, low craft. 3 out of 10.

Palate: lower quality, smooth texture, quick finish. 2 out of 5.

Overall: About what you’d expect, but not nearly as bad as American Lager. Will likely repeat, as it is quite affordable and not bad at all, not a favorite, high value, low craft. 13 out of 20.



Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest

Aroma: dull, flowery. 7 out of 10.

Visuals: copper, brilliant, white head, fully dissipates, thin light lace. 3 out of 5.

Taste: wheaty, no hops, weak, badly crafted. 4 out of 10.

Palate: low quality, scratchy, quick finish. 2 out of 5.

Overall: Not very good. I will not have it again.  Shameful. 12 out of 20.



Starr Hill Amber Ale

Aroma: not much, off. 2 out of 10.

Visuals: murky brown, thin off white head, okay lace. 2 out of 5.

Taste: carbonation, watery, very little craft. 1 out of 10.

Palate: water, quick finish. 1 out of 5.

Overall: A lot like seltzer. I would not seek it out, it was in a word, bad. Poorly crafted. 8 out of 20.



Troeg’s Troegenator Doublebock

Aroma: musky, sweet, malty. 7 out of 10.

Visuals: clear, red, off white, persistent head, some light lace. 4 out of 5.

Taste: maple syrup, crystal malt, light bitterness, medium craft. 6 out of 10.

Palate: washy, watery, quick finish. 2 out of 5.

Overall: disappointing for a double style. A generalized brown ale with a deeper finish. I would not seek it out again. It seems macro. 14 out of 20.



Southampton Triple Abbey Style Ale

Aroma: faint, banana, fruit, apple. 8 out of 10.

Visuals: clear at first, golden color, brilliant, wispy white head, no lace. 3 out of 5.

Taste: banana, apple, peach, chemicals, soap, average craft. 7 out of 10.

Palate: round, juicy, quick finish. 3 out of 5.

Overall: A lot like mass produced fruit juice. Not bad, but even hoegaarden is better. I would not seek it out again, it was not very well crafted, and was a fairly poor example of the style. 16 out of 20.
