Shmaltz He’brew Rejewvenator

A 22 oz bottle. American Strong Ale in a tumbler. 7.8% ABV est. at 400 calories.

After sampling Lenny’s RIPA from Shmaltz, I knew I had to try some others from this brewery. I was a little reluctant to get beer intended for the chosen people, being raised Catholic and all, but after getting a nice comment from the brewer on my last review, I feel a bit more justified. 😉

Rejewvenator is pretty. The label art is always very well done by Shmaltz. The color is a mix of koolaid and instant iced tea. Ruby highlights and red undertones. Although this was a gusher, it quickly settled down and shows a quickly dissipating white head. The viscosity is very nice, but there is no lace whatsoever.

The aroma reminds me of DFH’s Raison D’Etre. Lots of citrus, raisins, prunes, and since figs are the showcased element, this is no surprise. The aroma is very nice, and not muted at all.

The taste is very good with the figs coming through. Some wood flavors emerge. Honey. Lots of natural flavors coming through. Well balanced.

Texture is fairly crisp, drying. Tissue paper. Medium finish, and the hops give way to the malt.

Delicious. I’d definitely have it again. Well crafted, and nice mix of ingredients. L’Chaim!
