Otter Creek Mud Bock (World Tour)

Otter Creek Mud Bock (World Tour)

Style; glass:  American Brown; tumbler
12 fl oz x 5.6% ABV = 67.2 / 60 = 1.12 beers * 150 C = 168 calories (est.)
Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $1.20

Aroma: dirt, dust, tea, leaves, mold, appropriate for the style

Visuals: Packaging is not really appealing to me, but well done. I prefer realism and seriousness to cartoons and playfulness in beer label design. Deep brown, brilliant. Retains head indefinitely, lacing is fleeting.

Taste: begins very roasted, malty, but not heavy, middle is nutty and leafy, finish is a bit of smoke and clean water.

Palate: begins rounded, middle is drying, a bit washy, finishes rather thin, somewhat spongey.

Overall: Bocks, in general, underwhelm me, but this one is nicely done for the style, and is a superior value, in my opinion.
