first impression: Bubbly, frothy thick head, active, with great aroma that permeates.
Color, depth: A crisp amber with great depth and variation. Magnificent color with clarity. A beautiful beer. A definite change in color throughout the glass.
Belgian lace, legs: A head to be proud of, and the lace hangs nicely. Lots of foam.
Aroma: Smell is enticing and allows you to taste from a distance.
Hoppiness, bite: Knocks you over. Almost burns your palate. If I didn’t love hops, I couldn’t drink it. I love hops and it delivers in droves.
Maltiness, flavor: Lots of foamy flavor – malt undertones, but second to the hops without a choice.
Weight: Weight is good, but not overly heavy.
Mouthfeel: Airy, bubbles and air everywhere. A little bit chewy, somehow, despite its clarity.
second impression: A hefty buzz after one 12 oz beer. It’s remarkable, in its hops, flavor, and color. Lace is the richest I’ve tested so far.
