Style; glass: Belgian Ale, Trappist
22 fl oz x 6.7% ABV = 147.4 / 60 = 2.45 beers * 150 C = 367.5 calories (est.)
Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $9.99
It’s a deep bitter style that eludes traditional style descriptions – not quite an IPA, not quite a Belgian, but delicious, dank, and a bit soapy. Recommended as a different direction for hop lovers and Belgian lovers.

It’s like Orval, with more hops. I think I prefer this to Hop Devil, because of it’s bracing dryness.

Comment by Jim 04/01/2009 @ 7:51 PMloved it myself.
I’ll have to enjoy an Orval again soon.
Comment by lemasney 04/02/2009 @ 10:17 AMI thought mine was menacingly similar to another brew, and while I’m not certain, I keep coming back to Ommegang’s Abbey Ale as the source of that similarity.
