Samuel Adams Imperial Stout

Style; glass: Imperial Stout; snifter
12 fl oz x 9.2% ABV = 110.4 / 60 = 1.84 beers * 150 C = 276 calories (est.)
Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $2.24Aroma: chocolate taffy, tootsie roll, roasted malts, caramel, cocoa, licorice, burning, smoke, wood.

Visuals: Beautiful and elegant packaging. Well done sub branding. Pitch black  body beneath a respectable tan head than thins, but stays. Lacing is beautiful.

Taste: starts with wholly roasted malt flavor, middles to earthy hoppiness, and begins a lingering licorice and spice finish. Delicious.

Palate: Starts carbonated and crisp, quickly middles to a wet roundness, and finish is a slow hoppy burn through the rear palate.

Overall: An amazing offering from the micro producer of macro brews. I hope they continue this trend. Very well done.
