Aroma: fruity, cherry, sour. 8 out of 10.
Visuals: floaters, brilliant, angry, red, long lasting white head, subtle lace. 5 out of 5.
Taste: cherry, sour, watery, warm, dark, roasted, bitter, medium craft. 7 out of 10.
Palate: washy, dry, spongey, long, subtle, bitter finish. 5 out of 5.
Overall: Seems like a kriek, but much less intense than something from Cantillion. I would not go out of my way to have it again. Craft seems strangely lacking. 16 out of 20.

i don’t like this one… it’s the weakest offering of Het Anker. I think you should like Gouden Carolus Van de Keizer. Maybe hard to find in USA, it’s only brewed once a year. It’s a brown beer at 11%abv which gets better with age.
Comment by JP Koff 10/28/2008 @ 12:57 PMHet Anker’s availability is limited here in this state. The age here is a factor in the quality of imports — it sits for a while before I get to enjoy it, and as a result it suffers. Thanks for your visit!
